Miley Cyrus’ Dad Billy Ray Cyrus Admits Stealing Liam Hemsworth’s Shirts
Miley Cyrus’ dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, recently admitted to stealing his soon-to-be son-in-law’s shirts.
During a recent interview with Harry Connick Jr. on “Harry,” the former “American Idol” judge asked Cyrus to share the story behind the shirt that he was wearing. The country singer then revealed that he actually stole it from Hemsworth’s closet.
“I think if you bring something back you didn’t really steal it. I kind of borrowed it from Liam Hemsworth. He didn’t know though and he doesn’t know. I happen to be getting ready to come up and do this show and there was a clean t-shirt there,” he said.
Cyrus explained that he tends to sweat profusely so after changing from one shirt to the next, Hemsworth’s piece of the clothing was the only thing he had left. “So I’ve got to finish this show, fly back home and go put it in his closet so he doesn’t know it’s gone,” he joked.
Meanwhile, Cyrus has a very close relationship with his daughter Miley’s fiancé. In July, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer gushed over Hemsworth and shared that one sweet gesture he did that won him over.
“I love Liam so much. I was doing a show down in Nashville and Miley had been all over the world and she had been going nonstop. She and Liam surprised me at my show. She said, Liam said, ‘Man, let’s go down and surprise your dad – let’s go!’ I told him – from now, forward and forever – he never has to get me a birthday or Christmas present; he’s paid in full!” he told People.
Cyrus’ wife, Tish Cyrus, is also a huge fan of Hemsworth. While speaking with E! News in May, she said, “I will say I love Liam. I’ve known him forever. Absolutely cannot be more obsessed.” Tish’s daughter, Brandi Cyrus, also said, “I love Liam too!”
Miley and Hemsworth first got engaged a couple of years ago, but they decided to call it off at that time. They recently rekindled their romance, and “The Voice” coach has been spotted with her engagement ring again.
