Elated by the news, Miley Cyrus blurted out she was No. 1 on Maxim’s annual Hot 100 list Friday.

In similar situations, the relevant magazine typically reveals who won the coveted top spot, but Cyrus disclosed the news via Twitter:

For the sexy shoot, Cyrus’ platinum blonde spikes were slicked back and she was wearing a gold bathing suit with gold jewelry.

The overjoyed singer even went to Instagram to post the news: “My 1st Instagram is dedicated to all my fans ❤ thank you for crowning me #1 Maxim Hot 100.”

The magazine has neither confirmed nor denied the apparent news yet, but this is normally around the time that the year’s lineup is revealed. Last year, Bar Refaeli was No. 1, while Olivia Munn was No. 2.

It shouldn’t be too much of a surprise to her fans that Cyrus was chosen: She graced the covers of both Elle UK and V Magazine for their June issues.

The 20-year-old entertainer, who was best known as a former Disney star until she cut her long brown locks and spiked them platinum blonde, boosted her sexier image in the magazines.

“I'm going to change, I'm going to be different, I'm going to do what I want to do,” she told V Magazine about her evolving look. “I chopped my hair and bought a pair of Docs and never looked back.”

Last year, Cyrus was No. 68 on the Maxim list. Even though she was widely criticized for her daring hairdo, it seems to have paid off.

Cyrus’ next album, anticipated to be hip-hop-inspired because of her work with mentor Pharrell Williams, is expected to be released this year.
