Miley Cyrus' Strained Relationship With Dad Billy Ray Cyrus Revealed Amid Firerose Engagement Rumors

Miley Cyrus's relationship with her dad Billy Ray Cyrus has not been very great since his divorce from her mom Tish Cyrus. A source told E! News that the divorce, which Tish filed earlier this year after 28 years of marriage, has made it hard for Miley to connect with Billy.

"The divorce between her parents has put a strain on her relationship with her dad and it's been hard for her to connect with him in the last year," the source told the outlet. "She hopes they can eventually work on their relationship."

The source also noted that Miley "does not have a relationship" with Billy's rumored fiancée amid reports that her dad is now engaged to Australian singer Elizabeth Rose, who goes by the stage name Firerose. "She, of course, hopes he is happy. But Miley has been closer to her mom Tish throughout the divorce," the source noted.

Another source revealed that while Miley has yet to fix her relationship with the "Achy Breaky Heart" hitmaker, she has remained close and "very supportive" of Tish.

The source revealed, "Miley and her dad haven't been on the best terms. She is very close with her mom and supportive of her. She has taken space and felt that was the healthiest thing for her to do right now."

Tish filed for divorce from Billy in April, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split. She revealed in court documents that she and her husband had been living separately for two years at the time of the filing.

The divorce marks the third time Billy and Tish have gone their separate ways since they got married in 1993. In 2010, they filed for divorce but got back together just months later. They filed again in 2013 but decided to reconcile less than two weeks later.

The couple raised five kids together -- Miley, Braison, Noah, Trace and Brandi.

Meanwhile, the engagement rumors of Billy and Firerose first surfaced in September after followers spotted a huge diamond ring on Firerose's ring finger in a series of Instagram photos. Earlier this week, she and Billy also jointly shared a photo of themselves with the same diamond ring showing.
