The Forest Lake police in Minnesota have classified the death of two siblings as a murder-suicide, ruling out the possibility of any further investigation regarding a suspect.

The deputies responding to a 911 call reached a house in the 18000 block of Henna Ave. North on Saturday night. On arrival, the officers found a woman dead in the basement bedroom. While investigating the crime scene, the officers heard a gunshot. The Washington County SWAT Team immediately rushed to a nearby pole barn and found a man dead inside.

The man, identified as 39-year-old Phillip Ryan Kresge, and the woman, 37-year-old Michelle D. Kresge, were siblings. Upon further investigation, the police reported that Ryan entered the basement bedroom of his sister and fired at her with a handgun. Multiple shots were fired to make sure she was dead.

He then fled to the nearby pole barn and shot himself. Police said their parents were at the house when the tragic incident took place. Police confirmed that there were no other suspects involved in the crime and classified the case as a murder-suicide.

The motive behind the gruesome crime was not revealed by the police. The police were conducting further investigation to find out who the murder weapon belonged to.

Police also ruled out the possibility of any chances of danger to the public. This was an ongoing investigation and no additional information was available.

In a similar murder-suicide incident that took place in Wichita, Kansas, on April 14, a 44-year-old man, following a domestic dispute, fatally shot his girlfriend before killing himself. The man, identified as Robbie Urbano, shot and killed his 33-year-old girlfriend, Cherie Short, at a home in the 5800 block of East Skinner, near Mt. Vernon and Edgemoor.

Further investigation into the suspect revealed that Urbano was already facing alleged federal charges. Although public records showed no signs of any recent charges that were filed against him in the U.S. District Court in Kansas. This was was the sixth case of domestic violence homicide reported in Wichita this year.
