Minute: A Look at the Senator Chronometer
Glashütte Original presented the Senator Chronometer at a Tourbillon Boutique in New York City on Tuesday; a certified and technically interesting watch that has become a hit among watch collectors.
The made-in-Germany Senator Chronometer is promoted as an indicator of emotion of the time and sells for $28,000 in white gold.
The piece is innovative in two mechanisms: a new stop seconds / reset mechanism combined with a minute detent.
Pulling the crown causes the second hand to jump to 12 immediately where it remains. The minute hand switches simultaneously to the next minute.
When the crown is winded to adjust the time, the minute hand stops only on the indication of the full minute. This mechanism defines the precision and the accurate relationship between the minutes and seconds displayed.
The watch features a classic dial, with roman numerals, blued steel hands and an official certification.
