Miranda Kerr: 'It's Difficult For Anyone To Go Through A Separation,' She Says About Split From Orlando Bloom
Miranda Kerr is opening up about her split from actor Orlando Bloom in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia. The 30-year-old beauty dated the actor for three years before the pair married in 2010. They have a 2-year-old son, Flynn.
Yet, they confirmed their separation in October, with Bloom’s rep telling E!, "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family."
The former Victoria’s Secret model addresses the end of her marriage in the fashion magazine, telling Harper’s Bazaar, “It’s difficult for anyone to go through a separation, whether it’s on a public scale or not. It was important for us long-term to preserve our friendship and the dynamic of being loving parents to Flynn, so we dealt with everything openly and honestly.
We respect each other, and with respect comes understanding. When there’s understanding, I guess everything is a little more harmonious. We’re still very big parts of each other’s lives. There’s no reason for us to be anything but a united front. We still love and care for each other deeply.”
Kerr is now said to be dating billionaire James Packer, 46, who is the richest man in Australia. As of November 2013, Forbes magazine estimated his net worth at $7.7 billion. The businessman has also been close friends with Kerr and Bloom, even vacationing with them alongside his now-ex-wife Erica Baxter just last year in Tahiti for the holidays. In September, he split from Baxter after six years of marriage, just a month before Kerr and Bloom confirmed their separation.
