Miss Universe 2011: Decision Day for the World Cup of Beauty
It's decision day for the Miss Universe Pageant, whose judges will tonight reveal the world's most beautiful woman.
89 candidates from six continents have lined up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to exhibit their beauty in swimsuits and evening gowns in the 60th anniversary of the competition, all competing to take the crown from last year's winner, Mexico's Ximena Navarrette.
Competitors have been filmed in Brazil this week learning the Samba and playing football, fitting in with the culture of the host country, Brazil.
I don't think there is any doubt in the rest of the world's mind that Brazil is the place, between hosting the Olympics and hosting the World Cup, said Paula Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization. I love the fact we're going to kick it off. I always say we're the 'World Cup' of beauty.
The show will be distributed in about 170 countries and is expecting a billion viewers worldwide. It will be aired live on Monday night on NBC, hosted by NBC's Today anchor Natalie Morales and the Bravo network's Andy Cohen.
