Miss USA Alyssa Campanella may have a chance at bringing the Miss Universe 2011 crown home -- just a day after the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The redhead has the beauty, brains, and charm to take the top title -- and according to the results of an online poll, she just might do that. Ms. Campanella was ranked in the top ten fan picks to win the crown.

Before Miss California became Miss USA 2011, Alyssa Campanella represented her home state of New Jersey in the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant, where she was a runner-up.

The 21-year old beauty was born in Manalapan, New Jersey, and moved to Los Angeles after losing an apartment there.

Campanella, a natural blonde, told reporters she dyed her hair six years ago for a part in a play, for a fiery character. She and her redheaded character had traits in common, so she did not dye it back.

It's really brought out the true Alyssa Campanella, I feel, and that's why I really enjoy being a redhead, she said.

The 60th Annual Miss Universe Pageant will be broadcast live from Credicard Hall in SãoPaulo, Brazil on Monday at 9 p.m. ET. A live Spanish simulcast will air on Telemundo Network.

TThe contestants will compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. The winner will succeed the outgoing Miss Universe, Mexico's Ximena Navarrete.

Miss USA has not won the Miss Universe crown since 1997 -- is this the year she will do it again?
