Police in Birmingham, Alabama, continue to search for a woman who went missing a week ago after leaving a bar.

Paighton Laine Houston, 29, was last seen on Dec. 20 leaving the Tin Roof bar at roughly 10:45 p.m. According to Birmingham Sgt. Johnny Williams, Houston left the bar with two “heavy-set black males.” She willingly left with the two men, according to reports.

Houston's friends and family say that they do not know the men. The last communication she had with anyone was a text message sent to a friend. In the message, she said that she was unsure where she was and the felt as though she might be in danger. All attempts to contact her after that have gone straight to voicemail. Her bank account has also been inactive since her disappearance.

“Someone knows something, and we have to bring her home,” Houston’s mother said on Facebook. "Her last message said, 'She didn't know these people and she was in trouble.' The detectives are working to find her but please help us with any information you get."

The Tin Roof bar confirmed on social media that they are cooperating with police in their investigation. They also said that uniformed police officers were present at the establishment at the time when Houston left with the two men.

“We’re pretty much in the same place that we were when we first reported her missing,” Williams said. “We don’t have any other leads. We’ve exhausted the ones we’ve had to this point, but we’ll continue to investigate and try to develop new leads.”

Williams further described the case as “strange,” and said that authorities are unsure if foul play was involved.

“Unfortunately, another female is missing in the state of Alabama,” Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said in a statement. “In the midst of the busy holiday season, it is critical that we support Paighton, her family and law enforcement to ensure we do everything possible to bring her home.”

Ivey is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to Houston’s recovery.

Houston was last seen in a coral t-shirt, ripped jeans and blue Converse shoes. She is a white female listed at 5-foot-2-inches and 123 pounds. Police urge anyone with information to contact the Birmingham police at (205) 297-8413 or Crime Stoppers at (205) 254-7777.
