The police are looking for Gannon Stauch, who has been missing for six days after he left his home in Colorado to visit a friend.

The 11-year-old boy was reported missing on January 27, after he left his home on foot between 3:15 pm and 4 pm.

He was initially categorized as a runaway by the authorities, but his status was later updated to missing or endangered.

The case warranted the change of status because of the amount of time that had passed. It also considered the harsh weather conditions along with his medical condition.

His stepmother, Letecia "Tecia" Stauch, told the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office that Gannon had been missing since last Monday.

Several people were searching the Lorson Ranch neighborhood where the boy lives on Sunday, and the federal authorities have also joined the search.

The sheriff’s office stated they would like to remind the ones that live in or around the Lorson Ranch to be mindful and check areas of the property where a child could hide. These include window wells, outbuildings, yards, and culverts.

The public has been forthcoming so far as the number of tips has grown. The sheriff’s office announced on Sunday that it was looking through 134 tips to see if they could provide some assistance.

Gannon’s birth mother, Landen Hiott, claimed at a press conference on Friday that her son is a very loving person, and he would not want harm on anyone, so it is very hard to see why this is happening to him. She added that Gannon is essential to her and everyone in the community.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office tweeted on January 30 as the rumors concerning the case were spreading online. Any information released not confirmed by the EPSO is counter-productive to the investigation and does not assist in locating Gannon.

More than 300 civilian volunteers and a further 160 from supporting law enforcement agencies have assisted in combing the area.

Letecia was the last person to see Gannon and claimed she received death threats after Facebook groups dedicated to finding the boy accused her of being missing during the search efforts.

She has since defended herself, saying that she would never want to hurt this child. Tecia also maintained the entire family had been involved in the search for Gannon.

She is eagerly waiting for his return home and to have people apologize for imagining the worst. When he was last scene, Gannon was wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, and sneakers. He is 90 pounds and has brown hair.
