  • Teen suspects arrested Thursday night in Aurora, Colorado

Police held two teens Friday in the death of a Colorado man who had been shot to death.

The teens were arrested Thursday night in the disappearance and death of Gayland Allen Jr., 24, of Aurora. The suspects' names and ages were not released.

Allen's body was turned over to the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office, which determined he died from a gunshot wound.

Police discovered Allen's body Wednesday just outside Denver. He had been reported missing on Monday.

Allen reportedly was last seen on Saturday when his father, Gayland Allen Sr., went to check on him at his home in Aurora. The elder Allen told investigators his son hadn’t been returning calls or messages. He then checked home security footage, which reportedly showed his son entering an unidentified car that quickly sped off.

“I hoped to live as long as I could to watch him grow and raise a family, and now that won’t happen now, and it deeply saddens me,” the father told reporters. “And it angers me. It angers me and it saddens me a lot that I won't have my son with me.”
