Deputies have charged the boyfriend of a missing Florida woman with her alleged murder. Police are still looking for the body.

Collin Knapp, 30, has been charged with second-degree murder in the missing case of his 34-year-old girlfriend, Kathleen Moore.

"This is a sad reminder that domestic violence takes place in every community," Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said to WFTS.

Moore was last seen around 1 a.m. at New Port Richey on Nov.29. Earlier that night, the couple had been socializing with some friends and went to some of the bars. Moore and Knapp were reportedly seen arguing at the bars.

The couple left in Knapp’s Cadillac. Around 12:30 a.m., Knapp stopped at a 7-Eleven in New Port Richey and brought cigarettes. Knapp told investigators that Moore was in the vehicle at the time. But, based on surveillance footage, police are unable to confirm if Moore was in the vehicle.

Knapp claimed that they went to his home on Carmel Avenue. He said that he had another argument with Moore at the house and she left with her backpack.

Initially, Knapp helped the police with Moore’s search. But, inconsistency in his statement about Moore’s disappearance made deputies suspicious.

According to the police, they found no evidence of Moore ever leaving the home. Moore was reported missing on Nov.30, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

"Though normally very active on social media and communicative with friends and family, Moore was silent after Monday early morning. After she missed work and school, friends and family reported her missing," the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said, according to WFTS.

Later, Pasco County deputies discovered Knapp had thrown away some clothes in the dumpster of the restaurant he worked at. On searching through the waste, investigators found Knapp’s discarded clothing with bloodstains on it. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement ran tests and found the blood matched Moore's.

Although Knapp was arrested, he has refused to talk to deputies. Police are still searching for Moore’s body.

Police are urging anyone with information about the case to call the office’s non-emergency line, at 727-847-8102, then select option 7.
