Police in Chicago, Illinois, requested the help of the public to locate a 13-year-old girl who went missing from the West Garfield Park neighborhood. The teenager, identified as Mercedes Crumpton, has been missing since Friday.

According to Chicago police, Mercedes disappeared from the 800 block of South Keeler Avenue. She was last seen wearing a black dress and black furry sandals. Authorities also said that she might be carrying a white leather-type purse with sequins.

Mercedes is 5-foot-5-inch tall and is a 100-pound Black girl with brown eyes, long braided black hair, and a small scar on her nose. Mercedes might frequent the area near Cicero Avenue and Adams Street, police said, according to CBS local.

Anyone who sees her should call 911 or contact Area Four detectives at 312-746-8255, authorities said Saturday. Other details about the missing case remain unclear.
