Ohio police on Tuesday asked for the public’s help in its search for an 18-year-old woman who has reportedly been missing since Sunday afternoon.

Madison Bell of Greenfield, Ohio, was last seen Sunday afternoon leaving her family’s home for a tanning appointment. Her mother, Melissa Bell, was unable to get in contact with her for several hours and filed a missing person report with the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.

Fearing she was kidnapped, Melissa Bell made a public plea for her daughter's return.

“Whoever has her, bring her home to her family,” Melissa Bell told reporters. “This is not right. You don’t take her and not bring her home. She needs to be back home where she’s safe.”

Highland County Sheriff’s Office organized the first search parties with volunteers on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

There has been no evidence about Madison Bell's whereabouts.

“When a parent’s child goes missing in this case it becomes a concern for everybody in the community,” Sheriff Donnie Barrera told reporters. “We’re a small community and the community is coming together strong and everybody is actively looking for Madison at this time. We hope that we hear from her soon and find out that she’s ok.”

On Monday, the National Center for Missing and Endangered reported that Madison Bell’s car was found abandoned near Greenfield’s Good Shepherd Church. Her phone was found on the car’s passenger seat the keys were still in the ignition.

Madison Bell is 5-foot-6 and weighs about 120 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

“I want to get her picture and her name across the United States because she would never ever leave intentionally ever,” Melissa Bell said. “So somebody has her and I know that, as her mother, I know that.”
