A 19-year-old girl from Utah has been rescued from a man's basement five days after she was reported missing from her college dorm. She was locked up naked and covered in coal when she was found, according to authorities.

Madelyn Allen, from Kaysville, went missing from Snow College, Ephraim, on Dec. 13. She was rescued late Saturday from the basement of 39-year-old Brent Neil Brown in Loa, 90 miles from her college.

Brown, who allegedly held her captive at his home for days, has been charged with felony counts of aggravated kidnapping, rape, object rape and obstruction of justice, reported New York Post.

Allen reportedly met Brown in an online chat group and arranged to have him pick her up on Dec. 13. Security footage at the college showed the teen leaving her dorm room on the same night while carrying a plastic bag. Allen's roommates reported her missing when she failed to return the following day.

Brown allegedly turned violent in the following days and allowed Allen to text her family only once on Dec. 14. He also tied her up before he left for work, The Salt Lake Tribune said in a report, citing the arrest affidavit.

When Brown discovered that the cops were searching for Allen, he allegedly took her wallet and threw away her phone. He also threatened her that he would "come after her family and sister" if she told anyone about him, the court records said as per the outlet.

The investigators eventually located Allen using cell phone tower information. When the cops reached the door of Brown's home, he told them he was alone. But when authorities searched his house, they found Allen locked up in a basement room.

Allen's parents said they were "so grateful, elated" to have found their daughter.

"[We] couldn't describe the feelings that we had as we embraced each other," they added.

Meanwhile, Snow College Police Chief Derek Walk said they do not have much information about Brown. "We met him for the first time last night. We don't know how extensive his relationship or her knowledge of him is thus far," he said during a news conference Sunday.

A court has ordered Brown to be held without bail.
