Missing Woman Found Alive In Freezer [VIDEO]

A missing Tulsa, Oklahoma woman was found alive in a freezer, NBC station KJRH reported. Authorities believe the woman may have climbed into the freezer to take shelter from a storm, but the woman was unable to explain why she went into the freezer in the first place leading officials to believe she was disoriented in the first place.

Theresa Christian, 59, disappeared last Saturday and was finally found days later on Wednesday with severe freezing legs and has since been listed in serious condition, KJRH said.

Her son, Jermal Stewart, was responsible for finding his mother alive and told KJRH that he was relieved.

"She wasn't answering the phone or anything like that, so I came by here (Tuesday) night, about 10:30, knocked on the door, knocked on the door, and I couldn't get a response or anything," he told the news station.

On Tuesday Christian's brother, William Andy Jr., also tried looking for the missing woman but was unable to find her in her W. 23rd Ave. and Southwest Blvd, Tulsa apartment.

"We went through the house calling out her name and stuff and couldn't get a response or anything," Andy told KJRH.

Stewart became increasingly worried when he hadn't heard from his mother for another day and had maintenance personnel open his mother's apartment door again on Wednesday.

"I heard her say, 'Help me, help me,'" Stewart said.

He explained that after hearing his mother's voice he opened a closet door and saw his mother, who was unable to move, sitting in the freezer with the lid open.

"My mom takes a lot of medications, and it mixes with her system and it don't give her an appetite at all," Stewart told KJRH, trying to explain why his mother went into the freezer in the first place.

Though Police told KJRH Christian might have went into the freezer to take shelter from a storm, there was no severe weather reported in Tulsa on Saturday when she first went missing.

"Possibly she thought maybe there was a tornado coming, but they're not really sure why or how she got there," Tulsa police Cpl. Daisy Vallely told KJRH.

There is no suspected foul play, KJRH said.
