Missouri Man Confesses to Killing Breeann Rodriguez

A 43-year-old Missouri man has been arraigned in court after confessing to police that he killed 3-year-old Breeann Rodriguez, who has been missing since Aug. 6.

Shawn Morgan has allegedly told police that he suffocated Breeann ? his neighbor ? on Aug. 6, when he found her playing at his backyard swimming pool. Morgan then allegedly placed her lifeless body in the white trash bag he used to kill Breeann and threw her body in a floodway ditch, according to court documents reviewed by the media.

Morgan made his first court appearance on Tuesday in Dunklin County in southeast Missouri. He didn't enter a plea and is arraigning for counsel, said Stephen Sokoloff, a Dunklin County Prosecutor, to Reuters.

Morgan will be back in court on Aug. 30.
