Missouri Murder-Suicide: Couple Found Dead In Bedroom, Baby Inside Home Unharmed
In an apparent murder-suicide, a couple was found dead inside a bedroom at their home on North Golden which is near Division and West Bypass in Springfield. The incident took place Wednesday, local media reported.
Authorities said they arrived at the scene to a well-being check. By the time police arrived, a family member found two deceased people in the home. Police were initially called by the family member for help after failing to get in touch with the deceased.
According to Lieutenant Curt Ringgold from the Springfield Police Department, the couple’s baby was in the home, the child was not injured and is in the custody of a family member.
“The two deceased subjects were inside a bedroom, and it does not appear that child had any access to that, to see that, or involve that, or compromise the crime scene at all,” Ringgold said.
The victims were identified as Krista N. McKinnon, 24, of Springfield, and Andre D. McKinnon, 27, of Springfield.
Crime scene investigators worked to collect evidence. Other details about the cause of death and the reason for the murder-suicide are yet to be revealed.
In another recent murder-suicide case, an estranged couple was found dead in Ohio. Police said that the bodies were found at a home in Clermont County.
Union Township Police Lt. Scott Blankenship said officers arrived at the home in the 1200 block of Misty Lake Lane to investigate a disturbance. When authorities arrived, they heard gunshots. The Clermont County Special Response Team also responded to the scene.
The victims were identified as Christophe Takam, 49, and Annie Takam, 40, the news release from Union Township police said.
