Missouri Woman Fatally Shoots Boyfriend After Seeing Him On Video Call With Ex-Girlfriend

A woman in Missouri was taken into custody for fatally shooting a man, hours after breaking up with him.

The police responded to a home in Iguana Terrace Drive on Tuesday evening after receiving reports of gunshots being fired. The officers found the victim, identified as 33-year-old Christian Stewart, lying in a pool of blood in the parking lot of the residence.

Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene, media outlet St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

The accused, identified as 29-year-old Shaquavia Willis, was present at the scene, and surrendered to the officers, the media outlet reported.

Investigation revealed Stewart and Willis were in a relationship for over a year. On Tuesday afternoon, Willis saw the victim on a video call with his ex-girlfriend and her child, and broke up with him.

Willis then followed him to his residence and shot at him at the parking lot. Witnesses told the officers they saw the woman exiting her vehicle and running toward the victim before shooting him.

When questioned, the accused confessed to the crime and said she stopped shooting only because she ran out of bullets, CBS-affiliated television station KMOV reported.

She appeared in court Wednesday where she was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. She remained in jail as of Thursday with her bail set at $400,000.

Earlier this month, a man in Missouri fatally shot his wife and her parents and then dialed 911 to report the murder. Jesse Huy, shot his wife, 48-year-old Tonya Huy, and her parents at his home. Officers arrived at the residence and found the three victims with gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene and the 50-year-old accused was taken into custody. He was charged with three counts each of first-degree murder and armed criminal action and was being held in Greene County Jail without bond. The motive behind the murder remained unknown at the time.
