‘The Mist’ Season 1 Spoilers: Episode 4 Synopsis Released Online; What Will Happen In ‘Pequod’?

Will Kevin (Morgan Spector) finally get to his family at the mall in Season 1, episode 4 of “The Mist”?

Although Kevin managed to get out of the church with Mia (Danica Curcic), Bryan (Okezie Morro) and Adrian (Russell Posner) at the end of Season 1, episode 3, the synopsis for next week’s episode implies that the quartet won’t reach the mall just yet. According to the episode summary, Kevin, Mia, Bryan and Adrian arrive at an abandoned gas station, where Kevin tries to reason with a new character named Clay amid fears of the whereabouts of his child.

While it’s unclear why the quartet stops at the gas station instead of heading straight to the mall where Kevin’s wife Eve (Alyssa Sutherland) and daughter Alex (Gus Birney) remain stuck, Kevin’s group are somehow in a better place as opposed to being locked up in the basement of the church.

In Season 1, episode 3, Kevin asked police officer Connor (Darren Pettie) if he could take Mia and Bryan with him to the mall. But Connor refused to let him take either prisoner. When Kevin argued that they are now living in extreme circumstances, Connor decided to lock up both Mia and Brian in the church basement.

Later in the episode, Connor said that Alex was raped because she drank too much alcohol at the party. When Kevin heard Connor victim-blaming his daughter, the former tried to assault the police officer. But Connor overpowered Kevin and locked him up too in the basement.

Adrian tricked Father Romanov (Dan Butler) to get Kevin and company out of the basement. Adrian asked the priest why God hasn’t sent them anything good since the mysterious mist filled the whole town. Romanov told him the story of Job, a man who was tested by God for years after God bet Satan that Job’s faith in God was real. Satan lost. After thinking about the story, Adrian surprisingly asked Father Romanov to baptize him. At some point during the ceremony, Adrian hugged the priest but only to pilfer the keys to the basement from Romanov’s pocket.

Adrian then freed Kevin, Mia and Bryan from being locked up, and the quartet left the church despite Connor’s disapproval.

Also in the upcoming episode, Alex comes face to face with the Mist at the mall bookstore. In a preview clip teasing the rest of the season, the mist gets inside the bookstore and causes more casualties. While Alex is one of the people at the bookstore when the mist enters the area, Alex luckily survives. “Everyone who’s gotten into the mist has died except Alex,” a woman at the mall points out. Does this instance make Alex invincible in the mist?
