‘Mistresses’ Season 4 Spoilers: Joss Reads Karen’s Erotic Thruple Novel In New Sneak-Peek Video
Move over, E.L. James! There’s a new erotic romance novelist in town and her name is Karen Kim.
According to a Season 4 sneak-peek video of “Mistresses,” Karen (Yunjin Kim) will find a new career inspired by her sexcapades over the past three seasons — including her thruple with Alec (Ed Quinn) and Vivian (Sonja Bennett)! Fans of the hit ABC series, got a first taste of Karen’s deliciously steamy book, titled “Unleashed: One Woman’s Journey,” when Joss (Jes Macallan) tried to push the sexy series on a successful literary agent played by Tia Mowry-Hardric.
But Mowry-Hardric’s character, named Barbara Rutledge, is too bewitched by the infamous Joss to pay any mind to Karen’s jaw-dropping novel.
“Hold it … the one from the Calista Raines (Jennifer Esposito) trial?” Barbara asks after Joss reveals her full name in the trailer, which fans can watch here. “So tell me … was that guy really wearing a caftan and a wig?”
Joss, however, isn’t interested in discussing style specifics of the man who held her at gunpoint in the Season 3 finale. Instead, she encourages Barbara to read her friend’s salacious book and to make an appearance at Karen’s launch party.
“Oh, I get it. You’re mentally ill from the trial. I am so sorry…” Barbara begins before Joss chimes in that her state of mind is perfectly fine. Barbara then replies that she just doesn’t have the time to read every book that gets shoved in front of her face. That encourages the innovative Joss to then read a excerpt from Karen’s book to the busy agent, giving Barbara and audiences a sneak-peek into the sizzling novel.
“But once I got on top of him I glimpsed at the two of us in the mirror and I had to admit I was turned on by what I saw,” Joss says before Barbara cuts her off.
Although Mowry-Hardric’s character drives away before hearing the rest of the novel, a Season 4 promo photo teases that perhaps Barbara wanted to find out the ending of Karen’s juicy story after all.
“Mistresses” will air its Season 4 premiere on Monday, May 30, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
