Prior to the opening game of the MLB World Series, Magic Johnson took to Twitter to share one of his most precious moments with the late great Kobe Bryant.
Johnson, a part-owner of the Dodgers franchise in the MLB, is one of the biggest names in Los Angeles history during his playing years in the NBA. He gave the city multiple NBA titles as part of the so-called "Showtime Lakers."
Outside the court, he has formed strong relationships with many players who donned the famous purple-and-gold jersey after him, including Bryant.
“One of my great memories, hanging with Kobe at a Dodgers game. Thinking of my friend before Game 1 of the World Series tonight. Let’s go Dodgers,” Johnson tweeted.

The passing of Bryant remains one of the most tragic stories of 2020. The influence of the man known as the "Black Mamba" runs deep throughout those who followed the superstar with the renowned “Mamba Mentality” mantra that he popularized.
With the 8-3 win against the Tampa Bay Rays, the Dodgers dedicated the triumphant moment to the former NBA MVP.
Something is in the air. @Dodgers are doing it for @kobebryant

Mookie Betts and Clayton Kershaw were key pieces for Los Angeles as they were able to contribute evenly for the Dodgers.
The left-handed Kershaw was dominant across the game as he struck out eight batters and allowed two hits and a walk, per CBS Sports.
For Betts, he went two for four with a home run and a walk, coupled with two stolen bases. According to ESPN, he is only the second player in World Series history with a walk and multiple stolen bases in an inning, joining the legendary Babe Ruth in 1921.
Expectations are high for Johnson’s Dodgers, given that the Lakers recently won the NBA Championship.
Superstar LeBron James was among the many who were monitoring the game as he congratulated the baseball team.
1 down! @ClaytonKersh22 was himself(which is AMAZING), @mookiebetts did it all, @Cody_Bellinger went yard again and the whole team was simply damn good! @Dodgers. #OnToTheNextOne
