Since the conclusion of the 2018 MLB season, it’s been clear that the Philadelphia Phillies would be major players for Bryce Harper. But what about the other top outfielders in free agency?

According to MLB.com’s Jon Morosi, Harper isn’t Philadelphia’s only target. The organization reportedly has interest in other big names, including Michael Brantley and A.J. Pollock.

Brantley and Pollock obviously aren’t on the same level as Harper, but they are probably the two best outfielders available after the 2015 NL MVP. Brantley has made the AL All-Star team in two straight seasons. Pollock was an All-Star three years ago and has been productive when healthy.

It’s possible that the Phillies could make room in their outfield for two of the three free agents. Left-fielder Rhys Hoskins can play first base, and Philadephia’s right-fielders only hit .225/.318/.374 last year.

Ten National League teams scored more runs than the Phillies in 2018. Philadelphia ranked 10th in on-base percentage and 11th in slugging percentage.

Brantley, 31, hit .309/.364/468 in 143 games with the Cleveland Indians last year. Injuries limited him to 101 total games in 2016 and 2017. The outfielder finished third in the 2014 AL MVP race.

Pollock, 30, was 14th in the 2015 NL MVP race with a .865 OPS and a 7.7 WAR. He hasn’t played more than 113 games in a season since then. He hit .257/.316/.484 with 21 homers for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2018.
