Teams that were sellers before July 31 continue to make deals after the 2018 MLB non-waiver trade deadline. Justin Bour was among the latest players to join a contender, going to the Philadelphia Phillies Friday, and more trades could be coming within the next couple of weeks.

The Miami Marlins traded the first baseman after failing to send him elsewhere last month. The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson noted a few days ago that the organization would try to move the slugger, and he mentioned a few other veterans that are still available.

Jackson named Derek Dietrich among the veterans that the Marlins remain open to trading. The outfielder has been a solid contributor with a .276/.340/.441 slash line and a career-high 14 home runs. The Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs reportedly showed interest in him in July.

The New York Yankees could use an outfielder with Aaron Judge still on the disabled list and not close to returning. General Brian Cashman hasn't been willing to deal prospects for the hitters that are currently available.

Pitcher Dan Straily has also received interest from contenders this season. The 29-year-old is 4-5 with an underwhelming 4.42 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP, though he has pitched better as of late. Straily has a sub-4.00 ERA in his last eight starts and was a solid starter in the previous two seasons.

The Oakland Athletics inquired about Straily before acquiring Mike Fiers from the Detroit Tigers. The Boston Red Sox were linked to Straily before the non-waiver deadline, as well.

Miami traded reliever Brad Ziegler to the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 31. J.T. Realmuto has been linked to the Washington Nationals in trade rumors.

The Marlins would reportedly be willing to deal Starlin Castro, though they haven’t come close to trading the second baseman.

It was only a few months ago that Castro arrived in Miami, coming over from the Yankees in the Giancarlo Stanton trade. The Marlins traded away their entire starting outfield in the offseason, sending Marcell Ozuna to the St. Louis Cardinals and Christian Yelich to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Miami sits in last place in the NL East. No team in the National League has fewer wins than the Marlins with a month and a half remaining in the regular season.
