Marcus Stroman is going out of town. Recently the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to send the All-Star pitcher for the retooling New York Mets. Sources close to the deal said that Blue Jays would receive 24-year-old lefty pitcher Anthony Kay and 18-year-old prospect Simeon Woods-Richardson.

The unprecedented move has caught the baseball world by surprise, as the 28-year-old stand-out was allegedly implicated in trade talks with the New York Yankees. The trade took place after the Mets finished a three-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates at their home field in Queens, New York.

A formal announcement will be delivered after the completion of Stroman's physical examinations. The 2017 World Baseball Classic Most Valuable Player was one of the most sought players heading into the July 31 trade deadline.

The Mets are currently on a roll after winning four straight, winning of 10 out 15 games since the All-Star festivities. Strotman's arrival will strengthen their campaign as the team tries to catch up with their six-game slack to earn the wild-card spot.

In two weeks, the New York baseball organization has already passed four other clubs. In their next ten games, the Mets will be against sub .500 teams, bringing in the possibility of ending the Major League season in high a note.

On Sunday, after their win over Pittsburgh Pirates, Michael Conforto said that the team is "starting to put it all together." Zack Wheeler, who was listed with shoulder fatigue, also finished with a definite five-and-two-thirds-inning performance against the San Diego Padres.

The following night, Steven Matz threw-in an economical five-hitter for his first complete game in 90 major league starts, the first time in his five-year career. Michael Conforto and J. D. Davis finished the competition with a home run each to settle for a 3-0 victory against the struggling Pittsburgh Pirates.

Manager Mickey Callaway said that "I know we can win now." He added that Mets General Manager Brodie Van Wagenen and "I both feel that we can win an get on a roll." Team outfielder Michael Conforto seconded Callaway's optimism but pleaded to keep most of the Mets roster intact. Confronto has not yet released a statement following the trade with the Toronto Blue Jays.

In the last off-season, Brodie Van Wagenen traded two recent first-round picks to gain Diaz and Robinson Cano from the Seattle Mariners. July 31 is still days away; a potential trade could be around the corner not only for the Mets but for the other MLB franchises as well.
