Amin Ayoub, the BRAVE CF lightweight champion, will defend his title against Ahmed Amir at BRAVE CF 54 in Konin, Poland on September 25th.
This was recently announced by the promotion, a long-awaited showdown that was originally booked to take place in April at BRAVE CF 50.
The planned Ayoub vs. Amir fight was called off after the latter was forced to pull out due to a neck and shoulder injury. Now, the arch-rivals get the chance to finally come face-to-face and settle the score.
The beef between the two mixed martial artists is well-documented. They have been taking shots at each other on social media and interviews, a perfect prelude to the upcoming main event.
Ayoub has yet to taste defeat since April 2018. He has won his last eight fights, rewarding him with the lightweight title. He defeated Cleiton Silva at BRAVE CF 44 in November 2020 to win the belt.
The Frenchman faced Mashrabjon Ruziboev in April, replacing the injured Amir. He won via unanimous decision despite the short notice.
As for Amir, he is coming off a two-fight win streak. He forced Yousef Wehbe to submit at BRAVE CF 33 in December 2019 and then outpointed Cian Cowley at BRAVE CF 41 in September 2020.
More fights are expected to be announced in the coming days for BRAVE CF 54.
"After the success of BRAVE CF 53 in Kazakhstan, our fans can expect another action-packed fight night in Poland. BRAVE CF 54 will bring the very best European fighters. Once again, BRAVE CF will showcase the strength of its roster and give to the fans an exciting night that they will look forward to,” BRAVE CF matchmaker Gustavo Firmino stated.
But two fighters who may be tapped to see action at the upcoming event are Poland's homegrown talents Marcin “Bomba” Bandel and Ewelina Wozniak.
Both were recently signed by BRAVE CF, rising and promising young talents that should further provide the promotion a boost.
Bandel owns a wealth of fight experience and holds a 19-7-1 overall record.
On the other hand, Wozniak is considered the top pound-for-pound female fighter in Poland and is ranked No. 4 across Eastern Europe. She holds a clean 5-0 slate.
