After 11 years of filming, that’s a wrap on “Modern Family.” The hit ABC sitcom is coming to an end with the final episode airing in April.
The cast and crew of the show celebrated 11 years of success at the wrap party in Los Angeles Sunday night, according to People. Most of the cast posted Instagram photos or stories documenting the emotional occasion.
Sofia Vergara, who plays Gloria, posed with her husband Joe Manganiello while she wore a fierce black dress, captioning the story “wrap partyyy.”
Sarah Hyland, who plays Haley, the eldest daughter of the Dunphy family, posted an emotional goodbye to her onscreen siblings, Ariel Winter (Alex) and Nolan Gould (Luke).
“I love these people with all my heart,” Hyland began her caption. She ended the heartfelt post with the sentiment that they will all “always be Dunphys and we’ll always have each other.”
Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Mitchell Pritchett) gave fans an inside look into the “Modern Family” themed décor at the party. One wall had “a photo from every episode,” Ferguson said in his Instagram Story. He also showcased the party’s entrance which was a walk-through Pritchett-themed closet.
Ferguson wasn’t the only cast member to be excited by the creative entrance, his on-screen daughter Lily played by Aubrey Anderson-Emmons shared her own photos of the wrap party, starting with the closet.
“Ok, NOW it’s a wrap. Fantastic party. We’re totally overwhelmed. Goodnight. We love you all xoxo,” she wrote via Instagram.
She also posted a video that featured one of the event’s desserts: a frozen s’ mores station, followed by photos of her with different members of the cast.
Much of the cast has also taken to social media to share photos and videos from their last days on set, as “Modern Family” filmed its final scenes. Rico Rodriguez (Manny Delgado), Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker) and Julie Bowen (Claire Dunphy) all shared their love and admiration for a show that was part of their lives for more than a decade. Hyland, Winter, Gould, Ferguson, Vergara and Anderson-Emmons did the same.
