'Modern Family' Star Ariel Winter Opens About Body-Shaming Struggles Again: 'Really Disappointing'

Ariel Winter shared the worst body-shaming comments she received.

The "Modern Family" star has been opened about her struggles with body-shaming. According to her, some called her fat, ugly and trash. In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Winter admitted that she finds the issue very disappointing because she could not comprehend why people hate her for her choice of clothing.

"It was really disappointing that people would hate me so much for dressing how I wanted to," Winter told the publication. So, she decided to clap back at her critics on social media by writing something positive out of the criticisms she received from them.

"It's difficult to not write something sassy, but I feel better when I write something positive," Winter explained. "Maybe they'll not write something hurtful next time." The "Sofia the First" star added that by doing so, she feels better about herself.

In her interview with LaPalme in October, Winter confessed that her critics continue to criticize her outfits every chance they have. Until she realized that she only has one person to please, and that's herself.

"I get criticized in the press every day for the things I do. Other girls will wear the exact same things I wear, and they'll get 'so-and-so looks cute in a crop top on her day out' and I'll get 'Ariel bares all in a skimpy outfit, yet again,' and it will be me wearing the same thing as another person who just got praised, and I got cut down," Winter shared.

"For so many years I tried to change my appearance, and I tried to do different things to make myself so everyone is going to accept me, and they didn't," she added. "The only person's opinion that matters, the only person that gets to have a say in you, is you. We need to spend more time pleasing ourselves and caring less about what other people say."

Despite the body-shaming issues that have been plaguing Winter, she is confident of one thing, that her boyfriend, Levi Meaden, loves her so much. Winter and Meaden just celebrated their first anniversary as a couple this week.

The "Modern Family" star took to Instagram and shared a sweet photo of her with her beau. In the caption, Winter said that she is the "luckiest girl" in the world.

"Happy 1 year anniversary my love. I'm the luckiest girl in the entire world," Winter wrote. "Thank you for being the incredible man you are, and for making me the happiest I could've ever imagined. Here's to many, many more. I love you. "
