Sarah Hyland may be a hilarious character in “Modern Family,” but the 27-year-old actress doesn’t really think she’s funny in real life.

While speaking with People, she said that she’s lucky to have a boyfriend who thinks she’s funny. “I think the only person who actually somewhat finds me funny is my boyfriend,” she said in reference to Wells Adams.

“I don’t know. I’m just… I think I’m hysterical when I’m really not. I’ll be like this, ‘This is an amazing bit that I have to put on my Instagram Story.’ But the thing about Instagram Story is you don’t get responses, so I don’t know if people actually like them or not!” she said.

Hyland and Adams began flirting on Twitter a couple of months ago. They got together sometime in September. They have also been spotted in various occasions together including on Halloween when they wore “Stranger Things”-inspired costumes.

Most recently, the couple made headlines after Hyland posted a cryptic photo on her social media account. In the snap, the two appeared to be cuddling in bed while they were naked. Fans expressed their dislike of the photo and said that it was too sultry for their young supporters.

The actress later on defended her decision to not delete her picture with “The Bachelor” alum. On her Twitter account, the actress also posted a screenshot of some of the comments she received online. She “apologized” to the fans for posting a photo that featured her dog, Carl, because he was acting adorably at that time.

In a follow up post, Hyland thanked the fans who stuck by her and defended her even though they don’t know her personally.

Meanwhile, Hyland and Adams seem to be enjoying each other’s company. But one thing they still haven’t done is to formally introduce the reality TV star to Hyland’s “Modern Family” co-stars.

“Like, for guys, you have to meet the parents, which is stressful. But then I think the more stressful thing is to meet the second family, which is not only the Dunphy family but the entire cast…” she told Entertainment Tonight.
