Mom Allegedly Raped In Front Of 14-Month-Old Baby And Then Killed Along With Kid
A woman, who was allegedly raped and stabbed in front of her 14-month-old baby, died in a hospital in Pakistan during treatment Sunday.
The accused also fatally stabbed the boy after attacking the 30-year-old woman. On Saturday, the victim and her son met with a man who offered to take them to Mohra village. The victim's brother said the man was known to her sister. When she and her son did not return after a long time, her brother got worried and started searching for them. They later found both mother and son lying in the woods with stab wounds on their necks, the Dawn reported.
The victim's brother told the police the suspect allegedly raped his sister and then tried to kill her by stabbing her in the neck with a knife. He also attacked the toddler with the knife. Both the victims were rushed to a hospital, but the baby died while on the way to the facility.
"The man stabbed and injured both mother and toddler son. Later, the baby succumbed to the injuries while the woman was hospitalized for medical treatment,” police spokesperson officer Sajjad Ul Hassan told the media.
The body of the 14-month-old baby was handed over to the family after an autopsy was conducted. A police officer told the Nation there were signs of torture on the woman's body other than knife cuts.
The police said the initial autopsy report revealed the woman’s neck injuries were the cause of her death. Authorities are awaiting forensic analysis to confirm rape. An investigation is currently underway into the incident, the Nation reported.
The accused has been identified as Wajid Jadoon, who fled after committing the crime. No details have been provided about the victim's partner with whom she had the baby.
Station House Officer Mohammad Asif and officer Yasir Mehmood reached the scene of the crime to collect evidence and other relevant information about the incident. A search is currently underway to nab the accused. The police have also sought assistance from intelligence agencies to get details about the killer's whereabouts.
