A woman's son found a note warning the reader of their supposed imminent death after she went shopping at a department store in Australia.

The young boy had found the torn piece of paper, which contained the message: "You're going to die in 10 days," inside a toy, 7News.com.au reported.

In a Facebook post detailing the incident, the child's mother described feeling "sick" over the note that was discovered following a trip from the Kmart branch in Penrith, Sydney.

"Absolutely disgusting [that] people do this, especially in kids’ toys. Lucky my son couldn't read it, I feel sick that people think it's ok," the mother wrote.

The woman has warned others that there may be more notes hidden in toys at the Penrith Kmart.

"I'm just concerned about other kids that will see this [and] can read probably," she said.

Facebook users were reportedly left outraged by the find.

"Absolutely disgusting people do this - especially in kids’ toys," one wrote, according to the Australian newspaper The Mercury.

"What the hell? That’s disgusting. Seriously, what’s wrong with people today," another commented.

A Kmart representative later expressed concern about the discovery and claimed that they would follow up with the store in question in response to the mother's post.

"Customer service is important to us, as are our customers, so we're really sorry to hear about your recent experience at our Penrith store," the American retailer's representative said.

News of the discovery come after an Australian artist accused Kmart of racial profiling earlier this month.

Rapper Barkaa, whose real name is Chloe Quayle, was shopping with her two young children at Kmart's Merrylands site at around 8 p.m. on June 8 when a female employee started staring at her family.

The employee and two other men followed Quayle and her family around the store, prompting the artist to confront her and ask her to stop.

Quayle later paid for her items, but she was stopped on her way out and had her bag inspected while others leaving the store were left alone.

"I felt humiliated and ashamed, I had people looking at me and my young kids like we had done something wrong... I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired," Quayle wrote on Instagram.
