Despite being nine months pregnant, a 29-year-old mother from Wakana is still hunting to provide food for her family.

New Zealand native Lucy Rose Jaine fell in love with hunting when she met her partner, Sharn. The hobby then became a lifestyle and coincided with Jaine's advocacy against intensive factory farmed foods and wanted her family to consume organic food and live the “sustainable way.”

“ The animals are living a good life. I don't support factory farming and we prefer organic. It's free, it's fun and it helps the farmers,” she said.

The couple shares a passion for the outdoors, and they go hunting between five to eight times a month together with their children Indie, seven, Kahu, four and Daisy, five months, according to Daily Mail.

“We love hunting and the outdoors. Pig hunting mainly but we do it all and bring the kids along for the ride,” Jaine told 7 News.

She added that hunting is always different, but it usually starts with packing the truck and going to the mountains.

If pig is on the menu, they bring their dogs to the action.

“ When they find a pig, they let us know by barking and we follow our GPS to where they are. We then stick the pig or shoot it, gut it then carry it out,” she said.

Aside from pigs, the Jaine's family also hunt deer, tahr, chamois, rabbits, goats and wallabies. Through hunting, she estimated that they can save around $140 a month.

The family's hunting adventure is shared publicly by Jaine through her Instagram account. But while the house painter and full-time mom is largely supported by those who also love hunting, she also has her fair share of trolls who occasionally sends her death threats.

“ I receive great support, especially from other women who hunt. It's a really uplifting community,” she said.

On the other hand, The Sun said that the threats Jaine receive usually come from those who have no experience in hunting, or people who stand up against animal cruelty.

“ I don't take it to heart. I just tell myself, 'that person must be going through something in their own life and I can't judge what I don't understand.”

Jaine also claimed that one guy said “I hope you die,” but she took it upon herself not to respond. Instead, she only hoped that he "finds happiness."
