Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter posted a tweet on Thursday criticizing Lakers star Lebron James for not speaking out against Nike and its alleged use of slave labor to manufacture their products. In the past few weeks, the Turkish player has been attempting to raise awareness of the reported human rights violations in China.

“Money over Morals for the ‘King,’” Kanter tweeted, commenting on James. “Sad & disgusting how these athletes pretend they care about social justice. They really do “shut up & dribble” when Big Boss (China) says so.”

The Celtics defeated the Lakers 130-108 on Friday. Amidst the post-game interview, James responded to Kanter’s recent outbursts.

“I don't give too many people my energy," the 17-time All-Star said. "He's definitely not someone I would give my energy to.”

James also claimed that Kanter is taking advantage of his name to “create an opportunity for himself.

“He's always had a word or two to say in my direction, and as a man, if you've got an issue with somebody, you really come up to him. He had his opportunity tonight. I saw him in the hallway, and he walked right by me."

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen previously showed gratitude to Kanter for advocating for the freedom of Taiwan.
