Four members of a California family were stabbed after a dispute turned violent Sunday night. One person died and three others were injured in the incident.

The fight began around 6 p.m. local time (9 p.m. ET) at a home on North 5th Street in Montebello, said Michael Chee, the city's public information officer. All of them were stabbed as a result of a dispute within the family. It is not known what led to the dispute.

They were taken to a hospital in an ambulance. However, one male member succumbed to injuries. His identity was not revealed. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Montebello Police Department are investigating the incident, reported ABC7.

No arrests have been made yet. Police said there were "no additional external suspects involved." Details on the condition of the other victims were not available immediately, WhittierDailyNews reported.

Anyone with information about the stabbings can contact the Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

This is a developing story.

In a similar incident, at least four people were injured in a shooting in Lancaster in mid-October. The shooting had stemmed out of a family dispute and all victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, CBS reported. A few days later, a woman was stabbed with a sword by her own son in Mid-Wilshire. The woman suffered multiple wounds and lacerations to the arms and torso. The man was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of attempted murder.
