Coring on their vision to create a diverse list of gaming titles, Google recently unveiled its first original games studio in Montreal.

The new studio will be part and parcel of Stadia Games and Entertainment, and is one step of welcoming Stadia to the world of cloud gaming service. It is scheduled to be formally launched on November 19th and will undoubtedly deliver a direct hit to rival platforms in the form of Sony’s PlayStation Now, Nvidia’s GeForce Now and Project xCloud by Microsoft.

Stadia Games and Entertainment will be spearheaded by video games producer extraordinaire, Jade Raymond. The 44-year-old Canadian is best known to be the founder of Ubisoft Toronto and Motive Studios, and was also part of the Electronic Arts team that produced The Sims Online in 2002.

As Executive Producer at Ubisoft, Raymond was also instrumental in the creation of three Assassin’s Creed games in 2007 and 2009, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist in 2013 and Watchdogs in 2014.

9to5 Google mentioned in their March article and Stadia Games and Entertainment will be working with other studios to extend the blessings of Stadia to other games and “take them to the next level.”

As for the new studio, Raymond said that it will take charge in making “exclusive, original content across a diverse portfolio.” At the same time, she extended Google’s push for Stadia Games and Entertainment to be the epitome of a “diverse and inclusive workplace.”

These perspectives, Raymond added, will be on the forefront in empowering developers who work with Stadia “to create new, unique gaming experiences.”

Raymond also took the opportunity to let the world know that Stadia is looking for key players to join their team and realize Google’s dream. Among those that Stadia is looking for is a First-Party Games Senior Concept Artist, Senior Engine Programmer, UX Research Lead and Senior Gameplay Programmer.

“At Stadia, we don’t believe in being ‘good enough.’ We believe in being more. More ambitious. More inclusive. More accessible. More immersive. More engaging.”

Back at this year’s E3, Google divulged a not-so-complete list of games that will grace Stadia next month. These include, among others, Marvel’s Avengers: A-Day, Gods and Monsters, Watch Dogs: Legion, Borderlands 3, Doom Eternal and Just Dance: 2020.

Engadget explained that the recent announcement, along with Raymond coming on board, is a clear sign that Stadia will be consistent in their promise to create new and exciting content.
