An 18-month-old boy in the U.K was rescued by his mother from a sewage drain after the toddler slipped into the drain after its cover flipped over and closed on top of him. A surveillance video captured the miraculous rescue and the footage has gone viral on social media.

The incident happened in the city of Tenterden in Kent, a county in South East England Sunday. A 23-year-old personal trainer, Amy Blyth was taking a stroll with her toddler son Theo Prior when the curious boy stepped backward to check a drain cover on the path. The boy suddenly disappeared through the drain cover falling five-foot down the sewer, Times Now News reported.

Video footage of the incident obtained from the CCTV of a neighboring house shows the quick-thinking mother jumping into the river of human waste before pulling her son to safety.

The child was rushed to a hospital with a mild concussion but did not have any broken bones.

Blyth shared the video of the rescue on her Facebook page and it has gone viral since then. "Yesterday was by far the scariest most traumatizing day of my life...I seriously thought my baby boy was dead but instead, he was standing screaming my name for help; this noise is absolute torture and I’ll never forget how it sounded. Luckily, I was able to clench my feet onto the concrete and get my Theo out whilst shit snd piss was pouring on us," Blyth said in the post.

Meanwhile, Blyth said it was a miracle that her son is alive as the rescue would not have happened if the boy had fallen headfirst.

"It makes me feel sick to think of it. It's an absolute nightmare - I am petrified of drains now. I still feel really shaken by it. I just can't really get over it," Blyth explained, as reported by Sky News.

"He literally went straight to the bottom, and I thought I was going to lose him. It was actually like a horror film," she added.

Blyth said she would not mentally recover from the trauma of the incident and would fight till Prior gets justice. "I will not give up until we get the answer as to why a drain was left so dangerously. I will fight every day to get what Theo deserves, I will now focus on ensuring mine and Theo’s happiness is a priority, we recover and we never ever have to experience anything like this again!" she said.
