'Motherland: Fort Salem' Episode 9 Preview: Unit Comes Together

Preview videos of “Motherland: Fort Salem” episode 9 have surfaced online. After the events in Citydrop, the unit will come together in the next episode. Abigail (Ashley Nicole Williams) will be given a task by her mother, which she will readily agree to.

According to the plot synopsis of the next episode, the unit will come together and their distrust of General Sarah Alder (Lyne Renee) will grow. The other storylines include Tally (Jessica Sutton) learning something new about Gerit (Kai Bradbury) and Anacostia (Demetria McKinney) granting Scylla (Amalia Holm) one last favor.

A preview video of the next episode teases some emotional scenes, as the unit starts to wonder who they can really trust. The challenge they are going to face is the base being infiltrated. The unit will find a group of dead bodies in the woods that will be placed together to form a star.

A sneak peek scene shows the heroes and the others discovering the bodies at dawn. The bodies have their throats opened, and there are flies everywhere.

There will also be plenty of romance and humor in “Motherland: Fort Salem” episode 9. A steamy scene that has been released online shows Tally attempting to forget all her problems by having sex with Gerit. The agreement between the two is that this will just be about them having sex, and that means there should be no talking.

Meanwhile, Abigail’s mother will give her a task of eulogizing a fallen soldier. A clip from the next episode shows Williams’ character accepting the task even before her mother attempts to explain why the speech is important and why she chose her for the task.

The emotional scene between Abigail and her mother shows the latter trying to build a bond by saying how proud she is of her daughter. “...mom...I said okay,” Abigail says in the video, cutting off her mother. The tender moment ends with the two sharing a quick hug.

“Motherland: Fort Salem” Season1, episode 9 is titled Coup. It will air on May 13 at 9 p.m. EDT on Freeform. This is the penultimate episode, and the finale will air on May 20.
