Moto 360 2015: Motorola Backed Out Of An Inexpensive, Colorful Version Of Smartwatch, Report Says
Motorola recently unveiled two Sports variants of the Moto 360 2015 smartwatch. Both the devices are differentiated based on the size -- 46 mm and 42 mm. Apart from the rugged Sports model, Motorola also apparently planned to release a budget-friendly version of the Moto 360 2015.
According to EyeOnMobility, Motorola’s value-priced version of the Moto 360 2015 was reportedly cancelled without the company stating any reason. An Industrial Designer in Motorola named Imaan Naeem apparently posted a slew of images based on the concept design of the cancelled inexpensive model.
Naeem's images picked up by EyeOnMobility shows a single button on the watch positioned at 2 o’clock, similar to other model of the Moto 360 2015. In addition to the button, there is also a colorful ring encircling the display and a spring-loaded bar to help change the bands easier.
Motorola was apparently gearing up to market this device by targeting the younger generation of crowd, Phone Arena reported. The band choices, as seen in the uploaded image, show colorful yet cool options. Speaking of price, this wearable was reportedly priced at roughly $300.
The sports version of the Moto 360 2015 is now available for purchase via the Google Store. As far as Moto 360 2015 price is concerned, the Black variant with 42 mm display can be availed for $299.99. The Cognac variant with 46 mm display, meanwhile, can be purchased for $349.99.
Upon placing an order in the Google Store, buyers can avail free shipping services. In addition, the ordered goods will reach the door steps within the next three or four weeks. Users of the Moto 360 2015 will be able to use the installed apps independently on the watch, without having to tether it to a compatible smartphone.
