Motorola P30 Leak Shows iPhone X-Inspired Notch, Dual Rear Cameras
Lenovo appears to be planning on releasing three new mid-range Motorola Android smartphones under the P30 series. Now the regular Motorola P30 has been leaked and it’s revealed to come with an iPhone X-inspired notch and dual cameras on its back.
The leaked render for the Motorola P30 was shared online by Android Pure. The device appears to have a metal and glass design with a metallic frame sandwiched between two glass panels. Up front, the device features a notch on top of its display. It’s being speculated that the Motorola P30 will be the very first Motorola-branded Lenovo smartphone to be released with notched displays. Although bezels have been minimized greatly, the Motorola P30 still comes with a chin.
On the back, the Motorola P30 comes with vertically-aligned dual cameras. There also appears to be a circular dimple that’s emblazoned with the Motorola “batwing” logo. It’s believed that the dimple will also house the handset’s fingerprint scanner. Overall, the device has a strong resemblance to the Apple iPhone X, which may have been intentional to draw attention from consumers.
As for specs, the Motorola P30 is rumored to have a 6.2-inch display with full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The handset is said to be powered by an octa-core processor along with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The handset will also house a 3,000 mAh battery which will support fast charging through the bundled 18W charger, according to Phone Arena. The cameras on the back are said to have 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors, while the front-facing camera will have a 12-megapixel sensor. On the software side of things, the device is speculated to run Android Oreo.
The Motorola P30 is expected to be officially announced in China sometime soon alongside the Motorola P30 Note and the P30 Play. Information on designs and specs for the Note and Play variants haven’t been leaked, but it’s possible that the two other devices will have the same mid-range specs.
The Motorola P30 shouldn’t be confused with the Motorola One or the Motorola One Power. The pair have been rumored for some time now, and like the P30, both appear to have the same design. However, the Motorola One smartphones are expected to be Android One devices, which means the handsets will run an unmodified version of Google’s Android mobile operating system.
