Motorola's New Handsets Cost $200 And Less
KEY POINTS
- Motorola recently launched two new handsets
- The devices were designed to appeal to budget-conscious consumers
- Both are affordable devices costing $200 and $150, respectively
Motorola recently announced two new handsets that will appeal to those looking to buy a new smartphone but not wanting to spend top dollar for it. The two new handsets – the Moto G Fast and Moto E – are some of the most affordable handsets today, selling for significantly less than flagships and even Apple's cheapest iPhone to date.
As per CNet, Motorola's new handsets “are the latest affordable phones that bring solid features and a wallet-friendly price.” Both the Moto G Fast and Moto E feature decent specs but sell for only $200 and $150, respectively, making them the best option for those who don't need high-end devices. Here's a quick look at each of the device's specs and features.
The Moto G Fast is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512GB via use of a microSD card. While the SoC is obviously weaker compared to the Snapdragon 865 flagships use, the device is considered fast because its processor and RAM specs per dollar are better when compared to other phones from Samsung and LG.
The device has a 6.4-inch LCD display with 2,300x1,080 pixel resolution and 399 pixel density. It has a rear camera setup comprised of a 16MP wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and 8MP ultra-wide angle lens. Inside a punch hole in front is an 8MP camera. It has a 4,000 mAh battery, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and can be charged via USB-C. It runs on Android 10.
Moto E ($150)
The Moto E, on the other hand, is powered by a Snapdragon 632, backed by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512GB via use of a microSD card.
The device has a 6.2-inch LCD display with 1,520x720 pixel resolution and 271 pixel density. It has a rear camera setup comprised of a 13 megapixel main sensor and a 2MP depth camera. Inside the teardrop notch in front is an 5MP camera. It has a 3,550 mAh battery, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and can be charged via micro-USB.
Motorola was able to lower the price of the Moto E by using older features such as last year's processor and display design. Despite these features, however, the device has a sleek, modern-looking body that can keep up with today's newer, more expensive handsets. It runs on Android 10.
