Move Over iPhone 5, Droid Bionic as HTC Vigor Arrives
Verizon Wireless will not offer the Samsung Galaxy S2, which allows Motorola's Droid Bionic an unchallenged run, or so we thought.
Another phone from the HTC camp that is headed to Verizon's 4G LTE network way was spotted by Droid Life. The Web site got hold of snapshots of the 4G LTE enabled phone called HTC Vigor.
An earlier leaked Verizon roadmap, which came via IGN, stated that the HTC Vigor is slated for release on the ultra-fast Verizon LTE network in October.
Rumors suggest that the HTC Vigor will sport a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. The phone, which is touted to be a replacement for the HTC Thunderbolt, is expected to don a 4.3-inch display with 1280x720 screen resolution. Vigor is surmised to be fitted with an 8 MP camera. It will run on Android Gingerbread juice. Also it is expected to offer 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and is also surmised to incorporate Beats Electronics Technology - best known for the high-performance line of headphones backed by hip-hop artist /producer Dr. Dre.
The rumor of another phone from HTC on Verizon LTE does not bode well for both Apple and Motorola. Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 5 is rumored to arrive in September. Motorola's Droid Bionic is slated for a September launch as well.
Droid Bionic will run on Verizon's LTE network which means it will directly compete with HTC Vigor. Droid Bionic is rumored to sport a 4.5-inch display with 960x540 screen resolution. It is surmised that it will be powered by a TI OMAP4 1.2 GHz processor optimizing 1GB RAM. Droid Bionic is expected to feature Li-ion 1930 mAh battery and will feature an 8MP camera.
HTC Vigor has a solid rumored specification sheet in comparison to Droid Bionic. Vigor adopts the same styling as Droid Incredible and will feature HTC Sense UI.
This leaves Apple in the lurch as well, as it prepares to launch its next rendition of iPhone 5 with rumored features like a dual-core A5 processor, 3.7-inch screen, edge-to-edge display, 8MP camera and worldphone like characteristics.
