Are you in the market for a gaming laptop but not willing to lug around an eight- or 15-pound behemoth from your place to your friend's pad? We can't blame you. If that sounds like you, say hello to the MSI GS70, which Taiwan-based MSI claims is the "world's thinnest and lightest 17-inch gaming laptop."

At 5.73 pounds, the MSI GS70 is about as bulky as your average mainstream laptop, which is really impressive. It's also less than an inch thick, 0.85 inches to be exact.

There are two MSI GS70 variants: the GS70 2OD-002US and the GS70 2OD-001US. The only difference between the two models (aside from price) is storage. The former comes with a pair of 128GB SSDs set up in RAID 0 along with a 1TB mechanical hard drive. The latter has only one 128GB SSD and a 750GB 7,200 RPM hard drive.

As for system specs, both models will sport a 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 2.4 GHz Intel "Haswell" Core i7-4700HQ processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM, 16GB of RAM, four USB 3.0 ports and an integrated 720p webcam. Each version of the MSI GS70 runs Windows 8.

The GS70 2OD-002US costs $1,999.99, while the GS70 2OD-001US will run you $1,799.99. Check out the photos of the MSI GS70 below.
