After two months of searching, the body of LaDonna Williams was found in the backyard of a Jacksonville, Florida, rental property.

LaDonna, 41, is believed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office to have been murdered, WJXT, an independent news station out of Jacksonville, reported. It was unknown at the time of writing who committed the crime against her.

LaDonna’s body was discovered near a fence behind a rental property on April 20, according to the news outlet. Police are still unsure how she died or if she had been at the home when the crime occurred.

Her body was partially covered when the owner of the rental property discovered it as he was preparing the home for new renters, WJAX, a CBS affiliate out of Jacksonville, said.

“She was a very good mother, she was a good mother to all my friends, my siblings as well,” LaDonna’s daughter Tammy Williams told WJAX. “She did not deserve to die like that.”

LaDonna’s children said they knew something was wrong when they did not hear from their mother on her 41st birthday.

“When I found out it was my mom, I instantly, I just, I was shocked,” Tammy told WJAX.

LaDonna was a survivor of a domestic stabbing attack that happened in 2015, WJAX said. She was a mother of three and a grandmother.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for LaDonna's funeral. The site had raised just over $4,900 as of Friday afternoon.

LaDaisha Williams, the organizer of the GoFundMe page, wrote that “LaDonna was an independent, strong, motivated women and mother. She lived life day by day ready for whatever God had planned. She was the grandmother of two, soon to be four. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She was loved by everyone she met and kept faith in her heart.”

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is in the process of contacting the previous renters of the property and asks anyone with information about LaDonna to come forward.
