Mutilated Body Of Newborn Baby With Parts Eaten By Animals Found In Bushes
In a horrific incident, the mutilated body of a newborn baby was found in the bushes behind the parking area of an apartment in India.
A local resident first saw the body and alerted police. Officials were shocked when they found the body of the baby with its limb eaten by some animals, the Times of India reported. The body was discovered Saturday in Bhopal, a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
Investigation officer ASI Radhelal told the Times of India that stray dogs might have eaten the child's right arm. Police said the child was 1-2 days old at the time of being abandoned. It was also possible that the child was born dead. However, there was no confirmation about it.
Police said the building near which the body was found did not have any CCTV cameras. Investigators were checking security footage from nearby areas to determine the identity of the person who abandoned the baby. The gender of the baby has not been revealed.
In a similar incident last week, a newborn baby's body was found near an abandoned building in the southern Indian city of Chennai. Authorities said the child was probably left there by the mother. Local residents noticed stray animals preying on "some food" in the bushes near the dilapidated building. When they went to inspect, they saw blood all over the place.
Police arrived at the scene and found only the torso of the baby. Officials said some animals might have killed and eaten parts of the body after the child was abandoned at the site. Police began collecting information on women who had given birth in nearby government hospitals. The remains of the child were sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
