"My 600-lb Life" star Sean Milliken died at 29 on Sunday after an alleged complication from an infection, TMZ reported Tuesday. Milliken's weight had reached 900 pounds before he sought help on the TLC show in 2016.

"TLC is saddened to share that Sean Milliken has passed away," the network told Fox News in a statement. "TLC expresses its deepest sympathies to Sean’s friends and family at this difficult time."

Milliken's father Matt announced in a Facebook post that his son died at a Texas hospital two days after he was admitted for an infection.

"Sunday he was having problems with his breathing, they were able to resuscitate him and a short time later his heart stopped," Matt wrote, adding his son was a "good man" with a "good heart."

On the "My 600-lb Life" show in 2016, Milliken admitted that he had trouble controlling his emotions and would seek comfort in food when he was under distress. He also said his struggle with weight likely stemmed from his turbulent relationship with his father.

"It was scary. So I would eat. And suddenly I felt a lot better," Milliken said during the episode after accusing his father of verbal abuse. "In that moment, nothing else mattered."

Milliken's mother, Renee, confessed she too had an eating disorder, saying, “I probably overcompensated in a lot of ways. I couldn’t go to the store without bringing him home a treat."

Milliken also told the show: "Every day I wake up I have to face the reality of what my life has become... I am so big now; I can hardly move. All I can do on my own is skooch to the end of my bed, go to the bathroom and see if my mom is awake."

"I can get up, but I can only walk a few steps, so I just stay here in this bed no matter what,' he explained. "I can't do anything for myself anymore," he added.

TLC camera crews caught up with Milliken last summer during an episode of "My 600-lb. Life: Where are They Now?"

"A couple of months ago my mom went to the hospital because she wasn’t feeling well, and she just kept getting worse," Milliken said during the episode. "They said she had renal failure, and she didn’t make it. She passed away a couple weeks ago and I’m devastated, and I don’t know what to do now because my mom was everything to me."

Milliken's death marks the third individual from "My 600-lb Life" to die in the last six months. James "L.B." Bonner, 30, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in August. He was discovered in a park ditch in Lexington, South Carolina. In 2013, he lost his leg in a car accident and became depressed. He turned to food and alcohol as a coping mechanism and as a result, hit a weight of over 640 pounds. With the help of the TLC show, Bonner managed to shed half his body weight. Bonner, who was 6 feet 5 inches tall, reached around 200 pounds before his death.

“TLC was deeply saddened to hear of LB’s passing and is honored to have shared his honest and courageous story on My 600-lb Life,” the network said in a statement at the time. “On the show, viewers saw LB struggle with obesity following a tragic accident that claimed his right leg. Even though he once weighed 650 pounds, LB’s hard work and dedication helped get him in the 200-pound range.”

Lisa Fleming, who was part of the TLC show's season 6, died in August at the age of 50. She weighed close to 705 pounds when she appeared on the show. She then underwent weight loss surgery, in which she lost 200 lbs. Her daughter told TMZ that eventually her body “gave out.”
