'My Chemical Romance' Fires Drummer for Stealing
New Jersey alternative rock band, My Chemical Romance, fired their drummer, Michael Pedicone, claiming that he had been caught stealing from the band.
Michael Pedicone joined the band last year, after the group's long-time drummer Bob Bryar had left the band. Pedicone was replaced by Dead Country's drummer, Jarrod Alexander.
Some shit happened last night, My Chemical Romance guitarist, Frank Iero, posted on the band's Web site on Sept. 2. The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over. He was caught red-handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show last night in Auburn, Washington. We are heartbroken and sick to our stomachs over this entire situation.
Neither the Web site nor other reports have mentioned what Pedicone was caught stealing. The band said they did not plan on pressing charges against Pedicone, We just want him out of our lives.
Pedicone responded to the incident on Twitter.
What happened is more complicated than it sounds but I did make a mistake, he wrote. It was never my intention to hurt this band or all of you ... It was an error in judgment based on a whole other situation that's way deeper, but this does not define me.
The band performed in Salt Lake City, Utah, in the weekend with their new drummer, Alexander. Alexander has played the drums for several bands throughout his career and was the original drummer for Death By Stereo.
