Just two days into the New Year when resolutions and new commitments to eating and living healthier are high the MyFitnessPal app seemed to be having issues. The popular MyFitnessPal app, by Under Armour, is a free app that helps users track calories and log their meals to help them reach their fitness goals.

On Tuesday, users were complaining that the app was showing a message that said "offline mode." Users were taking to Twitter and the website Down Detector to report the outage.

Some users pointed out that Tuesday, the second day of the new year, wasn't the best day for an outage to hit the app.

One of the main issues that users were reporting was a difficulty tracking or inputting any food items in the app.

The company put a statement on its website that said:

Hello, Starting around 10am PST, Food Search went down. This may look like an "offline mode" alert when you are online, no search results yielding, or an inability to search at all. We are investigating right now and hope to have things back to normal as soon as possible. We're sorry for the frustration we know this causes! We will continue to update this article as more information becomes available. Please check back for further updates. Best, MyFitnessPal Staff

It was unclear when the app would be back up and fully running as of 1:45 p.m. EST Tuesday. The MyFitnessPal Staff Twitter account was replying to users who were complaining about the outage with apologies and reassurance that the company was working on a fix.

Some users were blaming the rush of users trying to make and meet resolutions for the new year for the outage.

But some saw it as a great way to postpone their resolutions.

The company was still working on the issue around 2:15 p.m. EST Tuesday.
