"My Friend Pedro" is a 2D, side-scrolling shooter about a guy wearing a gimp mask, who commits mass murder simply because a banana tells him to. The game came out yesterday, June 20 for the PC and Nintendo Switch.

The Steam listing describes the game as “a violent ballet about friendship, imagination, and one man’s struggle to obliterate anyone in his path at the behest of a sentient banana. The strategic use of split aiming, slow motion, and the ol’ stylish window breach create one sensation action sequence after another in an explosive battle through the violent underworld.”

"My Friend Pedro” allows you to slow down time, split your aim into two directions, and spin to dodge bullets, to name a few. Simply put, It is a video game imitation of action films like “John Wick,” “The Matrix,” and any other movie that features combat that can be described as "gun fu."

Players will enjoy killing enemies in the most stylish way possible as the game allows you to slow down time, shoot in two directions at once, and use items to ricochet bullets off in order to kill hard to reach enemies. The game is essentially an action movie that you can play and pays homage to classic action films with legendary shoot-outs. The game’s slow-mo option will make you feel like an action movie star whose only professional skills include shooting enemies in the coolest way possible.

In “My Friend Pedro,” you play an unnamed, masked protagonist who is accompanied on his quest to kill by Pedro, a sentient talking banana who acts as both instructor and narrator throughout the entirety of the game. It’s very clear early on that there is something off about Pedro, and while the reveal will no doubt shock players, you’ll have to find it out for yourself by playing the game.

The game will also include physics-based puzzles that can kill you, and an automated GIF generator so you can create your own GIFs and share them with little to no fuss.
