MyPillow Pulls Ads From Fox News For Rejecting Election Fraud Commercial
MyPillow Chief Executive Mike Lindell, one of Fox News’ biggest advertisers, said he is pulling his ads from the conservative news network over a disagreement over one of his commercials.
Lindell told CNBC he made the decision after Fox News declined to run a commercial in August promoting false claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election. In response to the rejection, he told his ad buyer to inform the network he wanted to cancel all of his ads immediately.
“It’s unfortunate Mr. Lindell has chosen to pause his commercial time on FOX News given the level of success he’s experienced in building his brand through advertising on the number one cable news network,” Fox News said in a statement.
Since the 2020 presidential election, Lindell has been claiming that the election was stolen from former President Donald Trump. His rejected ad would promote a cyber symposium that allegedly proved the 2020 election was stolen from Trump through manipulation.
Security and election officials, as well as numerous court cases, have found no proof of voter fraud.
“I pulled all of my ads. Every one,” Lindell told CNBC. “If there are any stragglers today, it’s a fluke.”
MyPillow spent almost $50 million with the network to run his ads last year and about $19 million so far this year, Lindell told the Wall Street Journal.
