KEY POINTS

  • There will be chaos in "Narcos: Mexico" Season 3
  • The show is yet to be renewed
  • The producers are curently discussing the plot of the next season

“Narcos: Mexico” Season 3 is yet to be approved by Netflix, but the producers are confident of getting the show renewed. They have been discussing what the plot of the show will be going forward, which will be about the fallout of the events in the Season 2 finale.

What will happen on the show when it returns? There will be “chaos,” executive producer Eric Newman previously told The Hollywood Reporter. In a way, Miguel Gallardo (Diego Luna) teased this very outcome in the Season 2 finale. With the drug lord out of the picture there is no one to control the various factions of the cartel.

The drug wars will only escalate on the show after the American intervention. Newman explained that the new cartels that will now emerge will fight each other to gain control and consolidate power. These events will tie into what is happening in the real world today.

The three cartels to keep an eye on in “Narcos: Mexico” Season 3 will be Tijuana, Sinaloa, and Juarez. The way the things will play out on the show will be the three cartel groups fighting each other and at the same time collaborating with the government. However, things will become different after the economic prosperity ushered in with NAFTA and these cartel groups become disposable for the government.

One character who may play an important role in the future is Enedina (Mayra Hermosillo). The character wants revenge, and according to a theory by CBR, she may end up working with Sinaloa to bring down Tijuana. She could also work with the DEA to achieve her aims since she knows the dirty secrets of all the major players.

Sinaloa and Tijuana have never gotten along and they may be the first to start a new wave of violence. Fear of Miguel was the only thing that was keeping them from fighting each other on the streets.

The TV series was originally supposed to be about Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura), but it has evolved into a story about the drug wars with different main characters. There was some concern about how the TV series could continue without the protagonist Pablo, but it has managed to become a surprising hit, Entertainment Weekly reported. It remains to be seen if “Narcos: Mexico” Season 3 will continue to engage the fans like before after Miguel has been sent to prison.
